Hosted annually by the San Juan Islands Agricultural Guild, farm tour time is one of our favorite times of the year. Not only do the islands feel, well, very island time (chill vibes, few crowds), but these tours also remind us all of what community truly looks, feels, and tastes like.
Farm Tours of the San Juans celebrates local farms, food, fiber, stewardship, and community across Lopez, San Juan, and Orcas islands. Each fall, locals and visitors alike come to meet growers, taste island-grown food, learn from working farms, and explore the San Juans’ agricultural roots. If you want to immerse yourself in island life, this is the time to do it.
Here are your 2026 dates:
Lopez Island: September 18-20
San Juan Island: September 25-27
Orcas Island: October 2-4
Keep reading to learn about a few of our favorite farms from each island, and click into their full itineraries to plan your time.

Lopez Island (September 18-20)
On Lopez Island, don’t miss Indigo Moon & Fiber, where visitors shear sheep and take a tour of their silvopasture and silvohorticulture systems.
Midnights Farm and S&S Homestead are also standouts, each offering farm tours along with special dinner events for anyone who wants to make a full evening of it.

San Juan Island (September 25-27)
San Juan Island is home to Beaverton Overmarsh Commons, a shared land access model developed through a collaboration between the SJI Grange and the San Juan County Land Bank. Now in its second successful year, the program has already brought together 70 San Juan Island residents who are growing their own food or local products for their businesses. It’ll give you an inspiring look at what a healthy farming future in the county could look like.
For a farm-to-table fete, visitors can choose between two dinner experiences: Aurora Farms and Saturn’s Return.

On Orcas Island, Lum Farm is a must-visit, with a beloved farm stand serving fresh ice cream (!!) alongside plenty of baby farm animals (!!!), including piglets, chickens, and goats. This place is a favorite for families with young kids (comfortable walking shoes recommended).
Kai Dawg Farm will give you a different take on the community farm model, with farm tours and fresh bread and goods to taste.
Tekla Farm rounds out the island with flowers and u-pick blueberries, another fun stop for families.
