Outdoor Activities & Fun Things to Do on San Juan Island

Visitors to San Juan Island will be charmed by the eclectic offerings of this island getaway, from first class restaurants to museums, gardens, art galleries, and of course, whale watching! While Friday Harbor is a bustling harbor town in the summer, consider a winter trip to enjoy its charms in the quiet season.

Sightseeing is unparalleled on San Juan Island! The magnificent Orca whales are in residence from March through November and can be easily seen from the shores of Lime Kiln State park on the island’s west side. Visit the national parks of English and American Camps and learn the tale of the infamous Pig War of 1859. Roche Harbor sits at the north end of the island and is an historical lime production landmark and marina. San Juan Island is also home to a lavender farm, alpaca farm and weekly Farmer’s Market – we’ll keep you busy year-round!
